Selecting the Gender of Your Future Child

While there are many debates over how ethical it is to choose the gender of your child before they are born, the fact remains that there are some natural methods you can use that will increase the likelihood of having a child of a specific gender. The ethics of it are up to you and while no method is 100% accurate, there are a few things that you can try that will help you increase your chances for having either a boy or a girl. 

These methods are centered around the fact that the sperm who carry Y chromosomes (which are necessary for a boy) are very different from the sperm that carry the X chromosome (which are necessary for a girl). By understanding these differences, and choosing the right methods,  you are creating an environment where one type of sperm can outshine the other and reach the main destination first. Let's take a look at what you can do.

The Right Diet

Y sperm require an enivornment that is alkalai in nature, while X sperm need more acid. The PH levels of your body determine how thick the cervical discharge is and whether or not the desired sperm will be able to get through successfully. In order to have a girl, you need to eat a diet that is rich in calcium and magnesium. In order to have a boy, a diet rich in potassium and sodium is required. 

The Right Time

The timing of when you have intercourse can greatly affect the gender of your child. Because the Y sperm need to reach the egg as quickly as possible, it is necessary to time intercourse to the day that you ovulate to increase your chances of having a boy. They will be able to reach the egg while it and they are still viable.

But in order to have a girl, you need to give the Y sperm time to die off, leaving the more durable X sperm behind. This means that you will need to time intercourse to approximately two to three days before ovulation. This gives the X sperm more than enough time to reach the egg. 

The Right Position

The position you choose for intercourse can also determine the sex of your child. Once again, we fall back to the differences between sperm. The Y sperm need to reach their destination in as little time as possible. This means that they need to be released as close to the cervix as possible, shortening the trip they must take to the egg. Positions that allow for deep penetration are ideal.

In order to have a girl, you need to make it more difficult for the Y sperm to reach their target on time. This means that positions where shallow penetration is achieved are necessary. The sperm will be deposited further away from the cervix, giving the X sperm the chance they need to reach the egg, and allowing the Y sperm to die off.

The Real Cause of Infertility

Infertility can be defined in two ways: as inability to conceive after a year of regular sexual intercourse without contraception, or as repeated ectopic pregnancies, miscarriages or perinatal loss. Male and female specific factors account for about 30% of the infertility causes (individually);the combination of male and female causation leads to an additional 20% and the remaining 20% are caused by uncertain origins.

When one is dealing with infertility, as much as it is important to strictly follow the rules of the treatment, it is equally important to make sure that you have the correct diagnosis of the root cause of your condition. In this article you will find a broad outline, enumerating the various probable causes of infertility.

Why it is important to determine the causes.

Infertility may be caused due to a multitude of factors at a time, or it may be the result of perhaps the deviation of a certain single factor from its premeditated path. Since misdiagnosis can often lead to further fertility complications, the very first step of treating and curing infertility depends largely on indentifying the root cause right in the beginning of treatment.

The broad causes of infertility in females may be listed as follows:

. Anovulation: In females, ovulatory problems are the most common causes of infertility. The failure to ovulate may be due to a number of factors:

o Hormonal imbalance is the most frequent cause of anovulation; when the ovaries produce immature eggs, pregnancy becomes impossible.

o Women with polycystic ovaries suffer from a decreased secretion of FSH and increased secretion of LH and testosterone; therefore polycystic ovarian syndrome may lead to anovulation in women.

o Approximately 20% of the cases of infertility occur due to the malfunctioning of the hypothalamus, the gland which controls hormonal stimuli, resulting in immature eggs. The pituitary gland is responsible for the regulation of LH and FSH, and its malfunctioning produces immature eggs.

o Damage to the ovaries caused by previous surgeries, ovarian cysts, tumors and infections may lead to production of immature eggs as well.

o Premature menopause and follicular problems are also responsible for anovulation.

. Improper functioning of fallopian tubes: Viral and bacterial infections of the fallopian tubes are the primary cause of their malfunction.

Appendicitis and colitis are abdominal problems which lead to blockage of the fallopian tubes. Tubal damages may also be caused by previous surgeries, which render the tubes incapable of passing eggs. Ectopic pregnancy, which occurs within the tube, is a potential threat to life that also causes tubal damage. Congenital tubal defects are rare, but not impossible to come across as causes of infertility.

. Use of drugs: Smoking, drinking and using other drugs have been known to decrease the chances of getting pregnant.

. Problems in the Immune system: This problem includes autoimmune reactions in the body and the creation of antisperm antibodies which exterminate sperms. Natural killer cells, which when present in excess, can damage the embryo in the uterus. The antinuclear antibodies cause inflammation of the uterus when present in excess. The presence of antisperm antibodies in the female's body kills off the sperms before they can fertilize the egg.

Although the causes of infertility are many, they are fairly easy to overcome, especially when diagnosed in the early stages. Using a holistic approach, comprising of the prescribed medicines, following a healthy diet, regular exercise, abstinence from alcohol, nicotine and other drugs, stress management, acupuncture etc. guarantees positive results. Joshua’s Secret

Each person would have wanted had successes in his life. But humans are often only measure of success based on the material and outward things alone. To the world, the measure of success is wealth, possessions, power, and position as well as one’s ability to satisfy all desires. Yet we know that there is no single thing in this world can satisfy human desire. But the Word of God says something different. In Peter’s first letter chapter 1 verse 9 written for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls. This is the real success  when men are sinners reconciled again with God so that people get the salvation of his soul.

The Bible writes about the success of a remarkable figure that we should emulate. At first he was a young man from a slave nation in Egypt but in the end he managed to lead a chosen nation of God into the rich soil that promised by God. This young man named Joshua.

In the Bible, Joshua’s name appears first at the time of the Israelites against the Amalekites. Young Joshua trusted by Moses, the leader of Israel at that time to lead the Israelites to war against the Amalekites (⁹ Moses said to Joshua, “Choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with the staff of God in my hands.” ¹⁰ So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hur went to the top of the hill… ¹³ So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword. (Exodus chapter 17 verses 9-10 & 13)). Not without reason, Moses chose Joshua to be his servant. Joshua is a young man strong and powerful but the real secret of Joshua’s success is not it. In Exodus chapter 33 verse 11 we are told that The LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks with his friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young assistant Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent. Young Joshua saw Moses spoke with God in a deep intimacy, thus making Joshua also want to have a close personal relationship with God. It kept him in the tent of meeting even though Moses had left.

I believe that God sees Joshua’s sincerity and longing, so God providing Joshua with obedience and courage.

This was proven when Joshua became one of the 12 spies that sent by Moses to Canaan to see circumstances. 10 Scouts deliver bad news to the people of Israel and caused them dither and rebellion to God. But Joshua and Caleb by faith say that God will be with Israel to acquire land which was promised (⁶ Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had explored the land, tore their clothes ⁷ and said to the entire Israelite assembly, “The land we passed through and explored is exceedingly good. ⁸ If the LORD is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us. ⁹ Only do not rebel against the LORD. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will swallow them up. Their protection is gone, but the LORD is with us. Do not be afraid of them.” ¹⁰ But the whole assembly talked about stoning them. Then the glory of the LORD appeared at the Tent of Meeting to all the Israelites . (Numbers chapter 14 verses 6-10)). Joshua’s obedience and faith are tested at the time. In fact he almost lost his life, but defense of God real to His faithful servant.  From the entire adult generation of Israel, only Joshua and Caleb who allowed by God to enter the land of Canaan, while the other adult generation will be destroyed in the wilderness.

Because of his obedience and faith, the Lord chose Joshua to replace Moses. (¹⁸ So the LORD said to Moses, “Take Joshua son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, [Or Spirit] and lay your hand on him.¹⁹ Make him stand before Eleazar the priest and the entire assembly and commission him in their presence. ²⁰ Give him some of your authority so that the whole Israelite community will obey him. ²¹ He is to stand before Eleazar the priest, who will obtain decisions for him by enquiring of the Urim before the LORD. At his command he and the entire community of the Israelites will go out, and at his command they will come in.” ²² Moses did as the LORD commanded him. He took Joshua and made him stand before Eleazar the priest and the whole assembly. ²³ Then he laid his hands on him and commissioned him, as the LORD instructed through Moses .(Numbers chapter 27 verses 18-23)). God says that Joshua was a man full of the Spirit. Joshua’s spirit is the spirit that possessed the wisdom of God. This is the secret of Joshua’s success.

The proximity of the Lord made Joshua a man who has spirit and faith in God. God also strengthens Joshua to lead the nation. God knows it is hard for Joshua to do this great task, but God promised to be with Joshua as long as he clung to the Word of God and truly obey Him (¹ After the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, the LORD said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ assistant: ² “Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them — to the Israelites. ³ I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. ⁴ Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates — all the Hittite country — to the Great Sea on the west. ⁵ No-one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. ⁶ “Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to give them. ⁷ Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.⁸ Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. ⁹ Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua chapter 1verses 1-9 ). Many times God tells Joshua  strengthened his heart because God will always accompany.

It is remarkable inclusion of God in the life of Joshua. We can see in the book of Joshua written successes of Joshua led the Israelites occupied the land of Canaan until finally he gave away the land of Canaan to the 12 tribes of Israel. But for Joshua real success is to remain steadfast in his faith in God until the very last step. This is said by Joshua at the end of his duty to lead the Israelites into the land of Canaan. ¹⁴ “Now fear the LORD and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your forefathers worshipped beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. ¹⁵ But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.” (Joshua chapter 24 verses14-15). Hallelujah!

But every person, every young man who gave his life to believed and earnestly to the Lord Jesus Christ will be taught and guided by the Holy Spirit to achieve real success in God. But actually that is not the purpose of life for believers. We must remember that everything that exists on earth is transitory and will perish. His words in Matthew chapter 6 verses19-21 says ¹⁹ “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. ²⁰ But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. ²¹ For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

God’s Word clearly says where your treasure is there your heart be also. If we are attached to worldly possessions then our hearts are bound to perish. But if our hearts and minds fixed on heavenly treasure that is the Lord Jesus Christ, then we get eternity. Beautifully hope was written in the Apostle Peter’s first letter chapter 1 verses 3-9 that is ³ Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, ⁴ and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade — kept in heaven for you, ⁵ who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. ⁶ In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. ⁷ These have come so that your faith — of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire — may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. ⁸ Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, ⁹ for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls. Therefore  also the Apostle Peter writes in 2 Peter chapter 1verses10-11 which says that ¹⁰ Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall,¹¹ and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Ever thought about Goal Setting for Kids? Goal setting is one of the most important skills that a person can learn, and the earlier this skill is learned, the more chances there are for successful outcomes in a person’s life. Adults know that goal setting is all about planning, making progress with that plan and reaching final goals or achievements. Once a child learns how to do this, they can use this tool for more success in school and at home.

Goal setting for kids will help your children to do well on their school tests and in activities such as sports, music programs or outside academic or arts programs - even at home, and with their personal finances. Teaching your child how to be a goal setter will give them a sense that they are capable of whatever they want to do. That’s valuable!

How to help your child be a goal setting child

Goal setting for children is basically the same as for adults, with a few caveats. Because they are young, and not as emotionally or cognitively developed, goals should be smaller and more tangible. The idea with goal setting for kids is to get them started in the life-long frame of mind for thinking, planning and taking action to achieve results. The basic premises of goal setting remain the same. You can help your child learn to set goals by working through these steps with him:

Ask, “What do you want to achieve?” – Help your child describe in specific terms something he would like to do that will take some work/planning (getting an A on his next math test, earning money to purchase a certain kind of bicycle).

Ask, “How will you get there?” – Help him plan out the steps to take and the mini-goals to reach on his way to the ultimate goal.

Establish accountability – Have your child write down what he wants to achieve and what his plan for getting there is. He can read it each day to help him with personal accountability, and he can share it with you, or another trusted adult to help him stay motivated, inspired and on-track.

Achieve – Achievement is not only for the final outcome, but also for the small goals that are met along the way.

Review plan/goals/outcomes – Throughout the process and at the end as well, review with your child the plan and how it is going. Do adjustments need to be made? How does he feel about his progress and where it is leading? How was the goal setting experience for him?

If your child does not reach his ultimate goal, talk to him about what he learned on the way. He still has learned valuable lessons about planning and goal setting, and he’s probably learned about himself. Encourage him to not give up on dreams that are important to him, but that if one plan doesn’t work, he has to revise the plan and try again.

Teaching your child to be a goal-setting child is one of the best things you can do.

Humpback Heart

In ancient times there lived a very wealthy young aristocrat. Unfortunately this young man has a very bad trait. He is arrogant, miserly, petulant and selfish. This young man did not want to donate his wealth to the poor. In fact, he treats his servants cruelly. The young nobleman gave very little wages to his workers but told them working very hard.  Everybody hates this rich young man.
But one day came news that this young nobleman was sick. He suffered a very strange disease. His strapping back is now become hunchback and stooped with a large lump. Day by day the young man back is getting more and more stooped and it makes the young man have difficulties to walk without using a cane.
All doctors and physicians across the country have been visited by the young nobleman but no one who could cure him. It made him so desperate, but one night this young man dreams. In his dream the nobleman was carrying a very large stone tied to a strong and heavy on his back. The young man sighed and cried for help, but no one was willing to help him. Suddenly an old man wise come.
“Son, why do you yell and complain? Are not you the one who binds the stone on your back? ”
“What do you mean old man, how can I bind myself with this great stone?” The young nobleman puzzled to hear the words of the old man.
“Son, I tell you something, the big thing that tight on your back was not a stone, but fear, anxiety, pride and anger itself. All it did was bend your heart. And that entire thing made your heart suffer and loose of peace. ”
When he heard the words of the old man, the young man wake up. He thinks the old man word with all his heart.  Finally the young nobles realize that everything he did for this is a bad thing that makes a big burden on his heart.
“I’ve got to change!” Said the young  nobleman.
Since then the young nobleman learn to change. Now He became friendly and generous to everyone. He is also doing good and fair to all employees. Everyone was amazed and astonished. And the magic happens, the disease gradually disappeared. Now everyone likes and respects the young nobleman.
