Christmas is always colored and celebrated with joy and abundant gifts. But did we really know who the center of the big celebration is? The Gospel of Luke chapter 2 verse 6-7 write 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. A baby boy who is placed in a very simple manger that is the true center of Christmas celebrations. Who is the baby? Why is He so special? Luke chapter 2 verse 11 explains Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ [Or Messiah. “The Christ” (Greek) and “the Messiah” (Hebrew) both mean “the Anointed One”; also in verse 26.] the Lord.
The Apostle John gives a clearer statement about the baby in the Gospel of John chapter 1 verses 1-5 and 14that is 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.4 In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood [Or darkness, and the darkness has not overcome] it. 14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, [Or the Only Begotten] who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. Colossians chapter 1 verses15-19 also says 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him. Yes! The baby is the Almighty God who is incarnate became man.
How did it happen? Nothing is impossible for Him. Precious God became man and be born as a helpless little baby. Philippians chapter 2 verses 6-11 expresses a truth about Jesus Christ that is 6 Who, being in very nature [Or in the form of] God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, 7 but made himself nothing, taking the very nature [Or the form] of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death — even death on a cross! 9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Why He willingly came to earth as a human being? Luke chapter 19 verse 10 says for the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost. Mark chapter 10 verse 45 also says for even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
Thus even though there may be many questions in our hearts, many things that we cannot understand about the plan and God's ways. But we must be aware, we are not facing unreasonable or irrational God but He is The Superlative and absolute God, which transcends above all the wisdom in this world, how could a bucket can hold the whole ocean. Romans chapter 11 verses 33-36 says 33 Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and [Or riches and the wisdom and the] knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! 34 “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?” [Isaiah 40:13] 35 “Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him?” Job 41:11] 36 for from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.
The Christmas baby is God himself who comes with love to save mankind from sin's penalty. Only by faith we can understand that grace. The Lord Jesus Christ has come into the world as a Christmas baby 2000 years ago to save all humankind, and today, His salvation still prevail for you; for every person who is lost their way and need peace in their heart. Hallelujah!
Merry Christmas
